This star is seen inside the semi circle of the constellation named Coronae Borealis. At normal state a pair of binoculars will show the magnitude 6 star easily. Occasionall due to its exceptionally carbon rich atmosphere and it being very deficient in hydrogen it can dim to a magnitude fainter than the planet Pluto around 14th magnitude. It is beleived that the atmospheric carbon is ejected and hides the central star with a cloak of soot.
