Observed visually and photographically by J.R.Fletcher, at Mount Tuffley Observatory. Gloucester. UK. during the auroral display of the 1991 November 8 -9. Time of appearance, 22h 55m = 1991 Nov.8.955 Meteor appeared just below Beta Ursae Majoris, travelling E - W (below Pole so R.A. increasing.) Length of luminous path = 14 (degrees photographic). Magnitude = 4-day Moon. Duration - slightly more than 1 second. Colour - green, with red-orange stripes. Light-curve: Slow rise, sudden outburst, followed by a series of diminis brightenings -distinct blobs at the end of the trail. 15 episodes. The meteor was almost certainly a Taurid. The camera used was a 50mm F2.8 instrument, and the film was 3M1000 colour slide material. Addendum. Beginning and End of luminous path (1950.0) Begin: 09h 34m, +58degrees 40 minutes.
