It reminds me to look at, of a binary star where the primary is stripping material off a white dwarf star.

Mind you it is actually the opposite. I believe perhaps a huge gas bubble has been ejected or part of the

nucleus has broken off perhaps so to speak. Some explosive force, or Impact !
